天津大學（Tianjin University, Peiyang University），簡稱“天大”，坐落于天津市，其前身為北洋大學，始建于1895年10月2日，是中國第一所現(xiàn)代大學。1951年，北洋大學與河北工學院合并定為現(xiàn)名。是享譽海內外的綜合性高水平研究型大學。

天津大學は教育部直屬の國家重點大學であり、中國最初の現(xiàn)代大學である北洋大學（1895年10月2日創(chuàng)設）を前身としています。常に「實事求是（事実に基づいて真実を求める）」を校訓とし、「嚴謹治學（謹厳に學問を治める）」を校風とし、「愛國?奉獻」を伝統(tǒng)とし、國內外で高い評価を得ています。1951年に中國政府の學部再編を経て「天津大學」に改稱され、1959年に中國共産黨中央委員會が認定した第1期16校の國家重點大學の1校に指定されました?！?11工程」および「985工程」の第1期重點建設大學、「國家世界一流大學への建設工程」のA類大學にも選ばれています。
